A Municipality Biodiversity Atlas (MBA) is a set of:

the inventory of the biodiversity of a territory (municipality or community of municipalities),

animations around biodiversity, organized on the territory,

communication on web and physical media.

Biodiversity includes all living things and their functioning, including humans.
The MBA is an initiative of the french Ministry of Ecology and is managed, in France, by the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB).
The atlas fits into the strategy for biodiversity and the biodiversity plan.
The MBA is an operation that takes place over 2 to 3 years.

The objective of an MBA is to have the most exhaustive vision possible of the biodiversity present in a territory and to involve the stakeholders (residents, associations, companies, administrations, schools, etc.)
